The actress recently welcomed her second child with her husband Tom Pitfield and the couple have decided to name her Iris.
She explained to Hello! magazine that she played a character called Iris Moss in the BBC drama Lilies in 2007 and she had “loved it ever since”.
Iris’ middle name is Ella – which is a tribute to her husband’s late grandmother.
The actress also shared the very first image of Iris in a family photo shoot with the publication. Her husband and their seven-year-old Archie are also in the photo.
“These first few weeks have been so precious. I’ve been living my best life,” she explained.

Catherine welcomed Iris into the world on April 19. She was two weeks overdue and had to be induced.
The actress, who used hypnobirthing and meditation music, explained that it remained a slow progress at the hospital until suddenly she felt the baby arriving and then she was born “within minutes”.
She added: “Even though it was super-fast and we were both in complete shock, it was a beautiful birth.”
A few days after giving birth to Iris, Catherine shared the exciting news of her arrival with fans and even shared a snap of the little one’s feet.
She wrote: “We are so happy to announce that our beautiful daughter has arrived. We are grateful beyond words and feel overjoyed that our family is complete.”
The couple, who married in 2016, announced they were expecting their second child last October.
